HIV/AIDS Care

Overview

Pink & Purple

Since 1990, the mission of the Pediatric and Adolescent Care Team (PAHCT) has been to treat the whole person by providing comprehensive compassionate family-centered primary and subspecialty medical care to infants, children and adolescents with HIV/AIDS. The interdisciplinary care team is composed of physicians, nurse practitioners, a physician assistant, social workers, and administrative support personnel. The team is led by a board certified infectious diseases specialist Dr. John Marcinak.

To date, we have provided medical care, psychosocial support services and social work case management to over 400 infected or exposed pediatric patients ages 0-24 years. Our patients are children, adolescents and adults living with HIV/AIDS in the city of Chicago and south suburbs. PAHCT is dedicated to preventing new cases through educational outreach and testing Chicago’s at-risk youth.
