About Us

Friends Against AIDS

Friends Against AIDS (FAA) is an auxiliary group to the University of Chicago’s Children’s Hospital Pediatric and Infectious Disease Department committed to eliminating pediatric AIDS in the Chicago area through treatment and prevention programs.

In addition to direct support of the children’s medical care, FAA organizes and underwrites Children’s Programming events to help enrich and improve the quality of life for the children and families we serve. FAA is also dedicated to not only treating Chicago’s children with HIV/AIDS, but also working towards prevention through education and outreach programs in the South Side community. Every other year, FAA hosts a major fundraising benefit to ensure that the HIV Care Team can provide the best quality of care possible.

Both the PAHCT and the patients, whose lives are touched by their generosity, are profoundly grateful for the dedication and commitment of FAA’s Board Members and volunteers.

For more information about FAA or to make a donation, please contact Michaela Brothers, Program Manager (brothers@uchicago.edu 773/702/3816.)
